Race for life 2010 - tick - complete

Wow. So I did the Race for Life 5km fun run today in aid of Cancer Research. Was a women's only fun run and it had an awesome atmosphere.
I have been really nervous about today but I had it in my head to run this race today for my Dad. If I had him in my mind the whole race I will get through it.
Race started fine, and I was doing a good pace but after about 1.5 km I couldn't run, even after pep-talking in my head, I couldn't do it. So I stopped jogging and started to power walk, but I felt really teary because I was jogging for Dad and I had stopped - FAIL. I think I ended up walking for a 1km and then I snapped out of it and started jogging again.
I really did not enjoy the course at all. I am used to the treadmill and other fun runs I have entered have been on roads or footpaths with tarmac. Today I ran through grass, mud and gravel as well as uneven paths so I found that a bit frustrating. I totally thought I had fail because they was no way I was going to complete the course in a PB time but oh well, I so tried but just didn't do it.
So I was shocked to see when I was running the last 200m to the finish the time. It was still under 40mins. At the gym on the treadmill I have usually been around 40 mins, maybe a bit after or before.
I crossed the line, and If i remember right it was 38.30, so I got a personal best and that was even with walking a 1km in between - what is up with that??? So I am thinking when I was running, I was obviously doing a faster pace than the gym to allow for that 1km. Good times.

So I have come home this evening to enter myself into the next challenge which is called
The 2010 Adidas Women's 5K Challenge. Its on the 5th September in Hyde Park and I have done about 3 races there and love it. My goal will be to try and do it in 35 mins.

Weigh in Day tomorrow. I know its going to be crap, but I am going to weigh in, actually have a treat tomorrow and start fresh on Monday. Monday I have gym at 10am with the kids in Creche so all good.

COMPUTER CRASH

So sorry I haven't been online since Sunday.

DS was pushing all the keys on the laptop whilst I was out in the kitchen until I heard the Lappy beeping continuously, so I had to shut it down and I had to do a system restore and it cleared the cache & cookies (blah blah blah) and I lost all the passwords saved. This blog being one of them. Since I started the blog, I have never needed to log in with my password so I forgot it and needed to reset it and anyhow to cut a ling story short, its taken until now to be able to edit the blog.

Well the week has been uneventful. I have been to gym Monday & Wednesday and did my 5km but my eating has been terrible. My motivation from Sunday where I said I would be writing everything down has failed. I don't know if its cos its the holidays and I am out and about with the kids and we are eating on the go.

I am feeling really lethargic this week, not sure why. I'm not going to beat myself up about it but will start afresh when I get the motivation again. Sometimes I feel like maybe I was born to be a fatty because I feel like I have hit a brick wall with the weight loss..... I don't know - any tips guys???

On a different note have been watching NZ on the Ipod Today and I have to say I LOVE Paul Henry, he makes me laugh so much. I love his humour - Great guy who doesn't take things too seriously!

HELP, I'm thinking as I type this would love to have a pig out - WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME???

OOO I'm getting my haircut tomorrow, hopefully that might be 200gms off my weight this week (jokes)

I will definitely write again tomorrow. I think I might sleep on it tonight, and start afresh tomorrow, I don't want to eat too much tomorrow as I have fun run on Sat Morn, so want to feel in tip top condition. Tomorrow I must remember to drink 2 litres at least of water to get hydrated for Saturday.

Weigh in Results

Well today I weigh 94.9kg. So that's 600 grams off since last week which I am NOT happy about.

Last week, I done 3 Gym sessions jogging 2.5k, 5k & 5k and I get a crummy 600 grams off???

I had a treat or 2 but no binges or anything. Hopefully the results will show next week, cos its weigh ins like these that put you off. I put in some hard work last week and this is the result to show??? GGGRRRR.

Yeah, yeah its still a loss. Loss Schmoss.

Oh well, I have to get over it and move on. Today is usually a treat day but not today. I'm starting the week as I mean to go on. I am also going to write down what I have eaten this week (even if it is a bite of sandwich) cos everything counts.

So today I have had

Regular Skinny Cappucino from Caffe Nero

1 Pork Steak (Marinated in Olive Oil, Honey & Garlic)
1 portion of New Potatoes
1 Portion of Tomatoes with Olive Oil & Basil
1 Small piece of Crusty Bread

1 Milk Bottle Sweet

1 Bowl of Frosties(Cornflakes) with Skimmed Milk

1 Coffee with Skimmed Milk & Sweetener
1 Caramel Snack a Jack

That's it for today.

Tomorrow we are off to the Gym at 10am for another 5km run!

Listening to NZ Radio

Got a mini speaker to connect the Ipod Touch to today and its awesome. Its so little but has great sound and bass - quite deceiving. Have been listening to NZ radio stations all afternoon whilst in the kitchen preparing dinner and making batches of pasta sauce for freezing.

At the moment listening to Michael Laws on Radio Live talking about a Meter reader who done a poo in a new world shopping bag at someones house. WTF?

Made a yummy Aubergine Dish for dinner tonight.
Just sliced 1 Aubergine up and drizzled some Olive Oil and sprinkle of Salt and bake in the oven for 15 Min's after that I spooned in some of my pasta sauce I just made (pork mince, tomatoes,onion & garlic) then sprinkled with Parmesan Cheese and baked for 20 minutes more. YUMMO. You should try it - really easy. I actually had it with some crusty bread to 'mop up' the sauce with.
Off to do the dishes then off to bed. Good night

Personal Achievement

Just back from the Gym today and just wanted to share my personal achievement. I have finally cracked the 5km mark.

Today I was able to jog 5km's without stopping. Previously I have done 5km but it would be jog, walk, jog, walk and so on but today I did it. I am so happy, I got to about 1.8km and really was ready to give in and start walking, but after words to myself managed to carry on. It definitely helps if you have good music though. I wouldn't be able to go to the gym without any music. I wouldn't be able to focus.

Kids were in the creche and loved it, so we are back on Friday. Think I will have tomorrow off.

Finally sold my Wii yesterday, I just didn't use it enough. I had good intentions for it but when I had the chance to use it (usually when the kids are in bed for the night) I was too knackered!
So that has paid for my Ipod Touch.

Slack

Haven't updated in a couple of days. Went out on Sunday, and was away all day today on a school trip, so haven't had time to get on the comp to update blog.

Nothing much to report really. have been sort of good. I always seem to dip on a Tuesday/Wednesday - it seems when my willpower goes. So I had some things I shouldn't have eaten today but I have got over it and tomorrow is another day.

Yes, tomorrow is another day at the gym. Have one hour there with the kids in the gym creche, which is great because I don't have to rely on my OH's days off to watch the kids. Its all included in the price too, so effectively I pay £2.75 for the gym and 1 hours childcare for 2 kids - your not going to get that any cheaper.

I also did the same thing on Monday morning but only for half an hour as the first session is an induction session for the kids to see how they go, but they loved it! No problems. So I managed only 20 minutes on the treadmill but was really happy because I jogged the whole 20 mins without stopping to walk so that is a big achievement for me as well. I have my 5km fun run on the 31st so I have to get a move on!!!!

Just found added another song on my exercise playlist to get me going.....

Weigh in Results

YAY! Lost 1.2kg this week. I am now 95.5kg so am happy about that. Cant wait to get under the 95kg mark - its been a long time but I'm getting there.

Well today is the usual treat day after weigh and we are off to a birthday today and they are having a buffet. I must be careful and not get carried away.



I bought myself a miniature of Captain Morgan Rum yesterday and said to myself if I have a loss this week I can have a Rum and Coke. So when I get home from the do will have a nice Rum and coke with Ice. Yum...

I will write some more when I get home but just wanted to log my weigh in results. Here's to another week.

Size 16

Yay, I finally fit into my Size 16 Skinny Jeans. I bought these awhile ago from Primark and originally looking for an 18 but as they kept selling out my friend told me to get the 16 'you will fit into them soon enough'.

I am happy to say I tried them on today and they fit! I'm rapt, I haven't been in a 16 for so long, so I feel real happy about that.

At the moment I'm drinking pints of water, to flush myself out before the big weigh in tomorrow.
Oh god, I hope its a loss. I did say I wanted to be 94.9kg but that seems a bit far fetched now. I
will be happy with anything at the moment, as long as it's a loss!!!

OOO, I had the most yummiest dinner tonight. Chicken Ceaser Salad. It was the bomb!!! I loved it and made a double portion, so I have another serving for tomorrows lunch as well.

Dont Stop Me Now......

This is my motivation song at the moment. Whenever I am at the gym, and feel like I'm flagging - I crank this song up on my Ipod. Gets me back in the 'zone' and the beat makes run faster.



I managed to get to the gym today and do my 5km. Took me just under 41 minutes - was a mix of run,walk,run,walk.

Back in the day I was able to run 5k in 30 minutes or just under, so I have a long way to go but I am getting there.

I always feel good after the gym and it makes me not want to 'cheat', not at the gym again maybe until Sunday, so maybe go walking tomorrow afternoon.

Psyllium Husks

Today I have decided to start to take Psyllium Husks again.
I used this years ago during the time I used to go and have colonics.

It is in Powder Form and you and you add it to water. You must drink it fast because what it does it expands in your Colon(tummy) and acts like a brush and sweeps all the Fecal matter from the sides of your tummy which may have become stuck there and moves it out of your system.

It does also give you the feeling of feeling full - I guess that's when it is expanding in your tummy. It has many health benefits as well as beneficial to people with high cholesterol and Type 2 Diabetes.
Not too much going on at the moment. The weather has turned and haven't done any exercise the past couple of days. I have 4 days left until my next weigh in. I really need to push hard, as I have been good........but not great and don't feel any lighter.
Never mind will get there - eventually.......

Another Weigh In Result

Well I know I have been really slack. After my midweek fail, I was ready to give up. But the next day I just carried on as usual hoping that my weigh in on Sunday wouldn't be too badly affected.

Well I weighed in today at 96.7KG which is a 600g loss. I will take that as I am pleasantly surprised that it wasn't a gain. The amount of food I ate in my binge last week was terrible.

Start Weight 104.4KG
Weight Today 96.7KG
Total lost so far 7.7KG

Since I started I have lost an average of 1.54 kg a week. I am happy about that, hopefully these slow losses will make me keep it off this time.

Back on track for tomorrow. I have had my 'fat day' today where I usually allow a treat - today was a Pizza OH bought back from work last night.

Hopefully back at the gym tomorrow after the Nursery Run. Just want to do 5km walk/jog on treadmill - after that I am usually 'Back in the Zone'

I'm going to be really serious this week. I want to be at least 94.9kg by Sunday which means a loss of 1.8KG - Bring it On!!!!

Itracker Results

This is my results of my weight loss journey since the start of this year.

On the 2nd January 2010 I started my new year diet weighing in at 109.5kg (massive aye)

My friend and I decided to start together and when I saw my starting weight I cried because although I knew I had put on a lot of weight - Never did I think it was that much.

I have also noticed that it logged my weigh in on Sunday as 97.5 - was almost 100% certain it read 97.3 so not sure whats happened there. I didnt cheat and after all I would only be cheating myself aye!!

EPIC FAIL

What the hell is wrong with me????

I have yet again another binge session today and I can honestly say I don't know why. Maybe it was boredom or the fact we have been stuck indoors since Friday with this damn Chicken Pox - Im not sure. But It cant be an excuse but I am sure using it as one.

I can't believe what I have eaten today. I dont even want to say what I have eaten out of sheer embarrassment nd the fact I have eaten so much I have forgotten. God, whats wrong with me?

Trust me, when I win Lotto the first thing I will be having is a Gastric Band Op and an irreversible one at that!!

This is a real de-motivator for me. I can't believe yesterday I was feeling really good and looking forward to the week but now I feel like I was before I started this all. Crap.

Nothing to Report

As the title says really. Stayed at home all day today due to Chicken Pox. I had the chance to go to the Gym but I was proper sore from yesterdays session, so took advantage and had a 1 hour Nana nap instead.

Had a couple of snacks (naughty ones) but back on the straight and narrow. I want the feeling of hunger in my tummy. Makes me feel like I am losing weight.

Will add to this tomorrow morning when I am having breakfast. Just wanted to write something so it doesn't seem I'm abandoning my blog!

Weigh in Day returns...

Start Weight - 104.4kg
Weight Today - 97.3kg
Total Lost - 7.1kg

YES! Managed to lose 2kg exactly this week which I am happy about. Didn't get to my goal of 97kg but who cares!!!

Really happy because my hard work is paying off and the disappointment of last weeks weigh can now be just a distant memory.

I had McDonald's last Sunday and a real good pigout! But just goes to show that you can still have treats and still lose weight as long as the treats aren't a daily occurrence!!! (like they once were!)

Not sure whats happening today as we have chicken pox in our house at the mo, we'll see what happens. I will defo write again tomorrow.

Procrastination.....


Sorry I haven't been on for a couple of nights. Just get too tired by the time I write.


Anyway, so far so good. have been really good this week so hopefully the results will show on Sunday.


We went to Decathlon(A Sports Mega store) and got some gym gear today. 2 pairs of 3/4 pants, 2 t-shirts and a Nike plus attachment http://nikerunning.nike.com/nikeos/p/nikeplus/en_GB/plus/#//dashboard/ - just need to buy the Ipod Touch now!!! have to sell the Wii first though.


Well this is really boring this week but will definitely write tomorrow, I'm definitely feeling motivated and can't wait to go out and do some exercise in my new gear (how sad am I???)
